According to law enforcement, the detention occurred at the beginning of the current week, after which Tolonov was taken to the Military Prosecutor's Office.
As reported by the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek, on February 18, the request from the investigative group led by an investigator from the Ministry of Internal Affairs was granted. Tolonov, accused under Article 336 "Corruption" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, will remain in custody until April 16 in a detention center.
On February 21, the Presidential Administration confirmed that Chynberdi Tolonov is the former head of the state buildings department, adding that since the end of December 2025, this position has been held by Temirkul Baltabaev.
