A fraudster wanted for over four years has been detained in Bishkek
He promised to free a Kyrgyz citizen's son from a Russian prison for one million rubles

Employees of the Internal Affairs Department of the Sverdlovsk District of Bishkek carried out a successful operation to detain a person suspected of committing large-scale fraud. According to the press service of the department, the detained individual was a citizen identified as I.E., born in 1985, who had been wanted since the fall of 2021.
This story began in April 2021 when the victim, M.K., reported to the police. He stated that from November 2020 to January 2021, a man he barely knew named "E." gained his trust. While in the center of the capital, at the corner of Kyiv and Shopokov streets, the suspect promised to "resolve the issue" regarding the arrest of the applicant's son in Moscow. For his services, he received 1 million 50 thousand rubles, after which he stopped communicating.
A criminal case was opened regarding this incident under Article 204 ("Fraud") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
On February 20, 2026, operatives were able to establish the whereabouts of the fugitive. He is currently being held in a temporary detention facility of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate. The investigation is checking his involvement in other similar crimes.
