The causes of the death of a 17-year-old teenager who died on the railway tracks near Kara-Balta – Kainy have been preliminarily established.

According to information from the state enterprise "NC Kyrgyz Temir Zholu," on February 23, 2026, at 14:10, on the 3718 km stretch of the Kara-Balta–Kainy line, the train driver was forced to apply emergency braking because a person was on the tracks.

Preliminary data indicates that the teenager, identified as S.R., born in 2009, crossed the railway track despite the activated warning signals. At that time, the signals were functioning normally, and both vehicles and pedestrians stopped, adhering to safety rules. "Despite the measures taken by the driver, a collision could not be avoided. The injured was taken to a medical facility, but unfortunately, he passed away. It is worth noting that the braking distance of the train is quite large, which is related to its weight and technical characteristics. Therefore, during emergency braking, the train cannot stop instantly. Railway tracks should only be crossed at designated locations, strictly following safety rules and avoiding being in the train movement zone," reported "Kyrgyz Temir Zholu."
