According to the Batken Regional Internal Affairs Department, joint actions by the Main Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and operatives of the Kyzyl-Kiya Internal Affairs Department led to the detention of a suspect in a series of thefts. This individual is listed as a member of an organized criminal group (OCG).
Investigative authorities have determined that from December 2025 to January 2026, there was an increase in the number of cases of theft of personal property at the central market "Tashtemir Azhy" in Kyzyl-Kiya. The suspect acted cautiously, stealing money and valuable items from the pockets and bags of shoppers.
During operational-search activities, the identity of the detained individual was established. He turned out to be a 34-year-old citizen, J.M., residing in Osh. The man was detained in the same city and taken to the investigative authorities for further action.
According to preliminary data, the damage caused to the victims amounted to 70,000 soms.
Investigative actions in the case are ongoing, and the possible involvement of the detained individual in other similar crimes in the region is currently being checked.
