The police have detained Daniil Azhiev again. According to the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui region, the detention occurred on March 6, 2026, at around 12:20 on the bypass road in the city of Tokmok during operational-search activities.
A criminal case has been initiated against Azhiev under Article 283 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which pertains to the illegal production of drugs and psychotropic substances without the intent to sell.
Azhiev has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
Investigative actions are ongoing, necessary forensic examinations have been appointed, and measures are being taken to clarify all circumstances of the case.
It is worth reminding that Daniil Azhiev has already been in the spotlight of law enforcement agencies. In June 2023, he was detained on suspicion of creating a network of webcam studios. At that time, he attempted to leave the country, heading to the UAE via Uzbekistan, but was arrested in that neighboring state and later handed over to Kyrgyz authorities.
During the investigation, the court decided to seize his property, resulting in apartments, houses, and vehicles belonging to Azhiev, with a total value of about 262 million soms, being confiscated for state revenue.
The court found him guilty and imposed a sentence of nine years in prison. On February 18 of this year, it became known that he had been pardoned by presidential decree.
