The helicopter renter, not named in the sources, asked the pilot to land in the village of Baytik to pick up Azhiev. The Ministry of Emergency Situations did not provide information about the route or flight time. It was also reported that the rental cost was about 270,000 soms.
According to some reports, at the time of his release, Azhiev was accompanied by the Deputy Head of the Penal Enforcement Service, Nurlan Sarchayev, but this information was denied by the agency.
It should be noted that Daniel Azhiev was pardoned by the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov. Earlier, the head of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchybek Tashiev, returned Azhiev's apartment to his wife and gifted her a new car, as he stated that they had nothing left.
Azhiev was arrested in June 2023 on suspicion of organizing web cam studios. He attempted to leave the country, heading to the UAE via Uzbekistan, and was detained. The State Committee for National Security also received a complaint from E. A. regarding extortion, in which he claimed that he worked as an operator and was subjected to psychological pressure from an administrator who threatened him with violence and demanded $2,000.
Subsequently, the investigating judge of the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek imposed a freeze on Azhiev's property, which was to be confiscated for state revenue, including apartments, houses, and cars with a total value of 262 million soms. As a result of the court ruling, Azhiev was sentenced to 9 years in prison.
