
The grand opening of the Winter Olympics took place at the "San Siro" stadium in Milan. This significant event was attended by Kazybek Moldazhiyev, the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of Kyrgyzstan.
The parade of national teams also took place in cities such as Cortina d'Ampezzo, Predazzo, and Livigno. The theme of the ceremony was the word Armonia, which translates to "Harmony." The procession was concluded by the French team, which will host the Olympics in 2030.
President of Italy Sergio Mattarella and President of the International Olympic Committee Kirsty Coventry officially announced the start of the Games. The Olympic flame was lit at the Arch of Peace in Milan and at Dibon Square in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
The Winter Olympics began on February 6 and will last until February 22. Kyrgyzstan is represented by two athletes at these Games: 19-year-old Timur Shakirov and Arthur Saparbekov. Saparbekov will compete in cross-country skiing on February 10 and 13, while Shakirov will compete in alpine skiing events on February 14 and 16.
