The cycling team from Kyrgyzstan held its first race in Europe

Cyclists from the Lokomotiv Manas team from Kyrgyzstan successfully started their first European competition of the season.

On March 4, the one-day race Umag Classic took place in the Croatian city of Umag, covering a distance of 142.3 kilometers with an elevation gain of about 1200 meters.

A total of 155 riders participated in the event, of which 133 reached the finish line.

The most successful for the Kyrgyzstani team was Russian Viktor Bugayenko, who finished in 31st place.

Other team members included: Daniil Zarakovsky (Russia) — 33rd place, Egor Igoshchev (Russia) — 41st place, Nikita Bersenev (Russia) — 59th place, Grigory Skornyakov (Russia) — 124th place, and Mukhamed Ali Matkarimov (Kyrgyzstan) — 132nd place.

According to the Cycling Federation of Kyrgyzstan, the team's sprinter Grigory Skornyakov was involved in a crash 3.5 kilometers before the finish.

The next competition for the team is scheduled for March 8 in Poreč (Croatia).
