Conor McGregor, the fighter from Ireland, has not stepped into the ring for almost four years — his last fight took place in July 2021. Nevertheless, he hopes to return to active competition this summer. Initially, it was planned that his comeback would take place on June 14, however, recently Conor stated that this date might change, and he is considering participating in the International Fight Week in July.
According to McGregor, negotiations with the UFC organization are ongoing, and a final decision regarding the location and timing of his fight has not yet been made.
It is worth noting that the likely opponent for Conor is the American Michael Chandler. Their meeting was scheduled after participating in the reality show The Ultimate Fighter.
Dana White, the president of the UFC, confirmed that McGregor is being considered as one of the participants in the upcoming tournament. At the same time, the main fight card of the evening could feature a bout between heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who is negotiating a fight against light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.
The full fight card for the tournament is expected to be announced soon.
