Amid preparations for a potential UFC tournament, discussions about Conor McGregor's next matchup have resurfaced in the White House. Representatives for Jorge Masvidal stated that if the fight with Michael Chandler does not take place, a bout with the Irishman is possible.
Masvidal's manager, Ali Abdel-Aziz, head of Dominance MMA, noted that organizing such a fight would not be difficult and could attract the attention of many fans. The planned tournament at the White House is timed to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the United States, adding significance and appeal from a promotional standpoint.
Additionally, Abdel-Aziz proposed another option—a fight between Conor McGregor and Justin Gaethje, emphasizing its importance even without a title on the line. He also expressed doubts about whether McGregor would return to the octagon and maintain his previous influence in the UFC.
It is possible that a fight between McGregor and Masvidal could take place outside of the UFC, perhaps in a bare-knuckle format. However, a decision regarding McGregor's next step has not yet been made, although interest in his return remains high.
