Conor McGregor may return to the UFC in 2026

Conor McGregor, the famous Irish fighter, may make his long-awaited return to the octagon in 2026. This will happen almost five years after he broke his leg for the third time in a fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. McGregor has expressed interest in participating in a summer UFC event to be held at the White House in honor of the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States, although his participation has not yet been confirmed.

The UFC organization is facing challenges related to the event: the number of VIP attendees will be limited, and there are no revenues from ticket sales, sponsors, and PPV broadcasting due to a recent $7.7 billion deal with Paramount. These circumstances may affect McGregor's ability to be part of the main event, especially considering that he will need to negotiate a contract in the future.

UFC President Dana White stated that a final decision on the fights at the White House event will be made after UFC 324, and complete information about the upcoming fights is expected in the second week of February. Experts' opinions suggest that McGregor may be reserved for another summer event that will feature full ticket sales and sponsorship support.

While Conor McGregor's return to the UFC may take place in 2026, his participation in the event at the White House remains in doubt.
