Akzhol Makhmudov will compete at the Asian Championship in Bishkek

Akzhol Makhmudov is set to participate in the Asian Wrestling Championship, which will take place in 2026.

This tournament is scheduled for the period from April 6 to April 12 in Bishkek.

According to the Wrestling Federation of Kyrgyzstan, Makhmudov has been included in the national team and will compete in the under 77 kg category.

At the end of February, he competed in the under 82 kg weight category at a ranking tournament in Albania.

Before the Asian Championship, Makhmudov will also take to the mat at the PWL 11 tournament, which will be held on March 27 in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). His opponent will be Olympic champion Nao Kusakabe from Japan.

Akzhol Makhmudov has significant experience participating in adult Asian Championships, where he has won three gold and one silver medal.

In the final of the 2024 tournament, which also took place in Bishkek, Makhmudov was defeated by Kusakabe.
