
The conference, which will take place in Ulaanbaatar from June 28 to July 2, 2026, will be titled: “Challenges Posed by Permafrost Thawing in Asia to the Global Community.” Participants will have the opportunity to discuss changes and challenges related to permafrost degradation in the Asian region.
Currently, more than 360 researchers from 25 countries have already registered, including countries such as the USA, China, India, Japan, Norway, Germany, Canada, and Russia.
In addition, fieldwork is planned in the mountainous regions of Altai, Khangai, Khubsugul, and Khentii as part of the conference. It is also worth noting that the event will be organized in collaboration with the Northwest Institute of Ecology, Environment and Resources (NIEER) from China.
