Saruzhan Nazarbayeva, the wife of Nursultan Nazarbayev, was hospitalized in the government hospital in April 2025. During that time, various rumors and conflicting reports about her health and whereabouts circulated in the media and unofficial circles. The press secretary of the first president, Aidos Ukibay, noted that details about the diagnosis and health condition of the spouse were not disclosed, citing medical confidentiality.
“The patient was treated in our hospital and was discharged for outpatient treatment in January. Other information regarding her health, diagnosis, and treatment methods, according to Article 273 of the Code on the Health of the People, is considered medical confidentiality and is not subject to disclosure,” the response to the editorial request stated.
Thus, 84-year-old Saruzhan Nazarbayeva spent 10 months in the medical institution.
