From February 10 to 14, precipitation is expected across the entire territory. The valley and foothill areas will predominantly experience rain, while the mountainous regions will see rain mixed with snow, and in the highlands, snow is expected, according to data from the Hydrometeorology Agency.
Weather changes will be caused by the passage of a western cyclone and atmospheric fronts. Heavy snow is forecasted in mountain passes, and winds may strengthen to 15–20 m/s. This will create difficulties for traffic on mountain roads, where snow drifts and reduced visibility may occur.
From February 11 to 14, particularly heavy precipitation is expected in some valley-foothill and mountainous areas under republican jurisdiction.
On February 12, a decrease in air temperature by 2-3 degrees is forecasted under the influence of a western anticyclone. In the capital, Dushanbe, the temperature will remain within +11–15 degrees throughout the week.
From February 10 to 14, there is a risk of avalanches on sections of the Dushanbe – Chanak road (within 48–74 km, including Maykhura and Zidekh in the Varzob district), as well as in mountainous areas under republican jurisdiction and in the west of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.
Due to the worsening weather conditions, the population, especially drivers, is advised to avoid trips to mountainous and avalanche-prone areas unless absolutely necessary.
