- According to the Financial Times, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky plans to announce presidential elections and a referendum on February 24, however, Reuters reports that the implementation of this plan may be unlikely. In response to the publication, Zelensky noted that Ukraine is ready for elections, but announcing them on the specified day would be inappropriate.
- Zelensky also announced a new round of negotiations with representatives from Russia and the USA, which will take place on February 17 and 18 in America.
- Patrick Pouyanné, CEO of TotalEnergies, a French energy company, confirmed that the company will comply with EU sanctions and will stop importing liquefied natural gas from Russia, but will maintain its stake in the "Yamal LNG" project.
