
On March 1, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, Zandan Shatar Gombojav, held a meeting with key officials to discuss current issues and the overall situation in the country's energy sector. According to official sources, last week, earthworks began for the "CHP No. 5" project, and drilling is currently underway. The construction of the main facilities of the station is scheduled for April 1.
Representatives of professional organizations also informed the Prime Minister about the progress of the construction project for the "Bayan" power plant with a capacity of 660 MW, as well as the expansion of the electricity distribution network in Ulaanbaatar.

Zandan Shatar Gombojav also instructed responsible officials to prepare a draft resolution outlining medium-term measures to ensure reliable and stable operation of the energy sector. This draft is to be presented at the next Cabinet meeting this month. The instruction was addressed to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Development Enkhbayar Jadamba, Minister of Energy Chojilsuren Battogtokh, and Minister of Finance Javkhlan Bold.
