// ABC News
In this film, which became a favorite among analysts and bookmakers, viewers were presented with outstanding performances from stars like Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn, the latter of whom won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. Paul Thomas Anderson also received awards for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay, sharing that he created this film as an apology to his children for the state of the world.

The ceremony, held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, celebrated the success of the film "One Battle After Another," which tells the story of a drunken revolutionary trying to save his daughter from his sworn enemy. Sunday night was a triumph for Anderson, who had been nominated for an Oscar 11 times before but had never won.

Among other films presented at the ceremony, "The Sinners" from Warner Bros. was nominated for a record 16 awards. This film, directed by Ryan Coogler, combines elements of horror and musical numbers while addressing themes of racism in Mississippi during the 1930s. Michael B. Jordan was recognized as Best Actor for his performance in this film.

Anderson noted that his film was made for his children to express regret about what they are inheriting and expressed hope that they would be the ones to make changes in the world.

The ceremony was not only a celebration of art but also a platform for expressing social and political views. Javier Bardem, presenting the award for Best Foreign Film, called for peace and freedom for Palestine, while host Jimmy Kimmel touched on issues of freedom of speech.

This year, the Academy implemented new rules requiring members to watch all nominated films before voting. For the first time, an award for casting achievement was presented, which went to Cassandra Kulukundis for "One Battle After Another."

Next, Amy Madigan was recognized for Best Supporting Actress in the film "Weapon," while Jessie Buckley was honored for her role as Shakespeare's wife in "Hamnet." The Netflix musical "Demon Hunters" won the award for Best Animated Feature and became the most-watched content on the platform.

In conclusion, the event took place with heightened security measures amid ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, as confirmed by officials. A police buffer zone was established around the theater, and protests against the war took place.
