Israel announced the death of Iran's security chief Larijani

Ali Larijani
According to Katz, Larijani, as well as the commander of the paramilitary formation "Basij," were eliminated in one night and are now "in the depths of hell" alongside other liquidated members of the "axis of evil," as reported by the Times of Israel.

So far, Iranian authorities have not made any official statements regarding this matter.

According to sources from Israeli Channel 12, information that Larijani was supposed to arrive at one of his secret apartments in Tehran came on March 16. He was with his son at the time of the strike.
“He had no chance of surviving such a strike,” the source added.

The Israeli Army also confirmed that the commander of the "Basij," Gholamreza Soleimani, was destroyed as a result of the same "targeted strike." This formation is subordinate to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and actively participates in suppressing protests in the country.

Ali Larijani became the highest-profile Iranian official killed since the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. As reported by The New York Times, shortly before the strike, Larijani had become the de facto leader of the country, receiving tasks from Khamenei to combat protests and prepare for a possible war. He also maintained connections with key Iranian partners such as Russia, Qatar, and Oman, and oversaw negotiations on the nuclear program with the United States.
