Qatar reported a new Iranian missile strike on the oil and gas complex in Ras Laffan

Qatar Energy reported that in the morning hours of March 19, some of their facilities were victims of a missile strike, resulting in a serious fire and significant damage. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and there is no information about casualties.

Later, the Qatari Ministry of Interior announced on platform X that all fires at the Ras Laffan energy complex had been successfully contained, and no one was injured.

The Ministry of Interior added that cooling and safety operations are ongoing, and a specialized unit is working with potentially hazardous materials.

On the eve, Iranian authorities announced an attack on the South Pars gas field. In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps threatened strikes on oil and gas facilities in other Gulf countries.

Shortly after, the Ras Laffan industrial complex in Qatar, recognized as the largest liquefied natural gas production cluster in the world, also became the target of an attack, causing "significant damage" to the Pearl GTL facility, which processes gas.

In response to these events, Qatar declared the military and security attaché at the Iranian embassy persona non grata and demanded they leave the country. U.S. President Trump promised that further Israeli attacks on the South Pars field would not occur if Iran "does not make the unreasonable decision to attack completely innocent Qatar." Otherwise, the U.S. is prepared to strike the field "with a force that Iran has never seen before."
