Trump also emphasized that, in his opinion, Israel is behind the attack on the South Pars gas field, while the U.S. "had no information about this specific attack," adding that "Qatar was not involved." The White House head noted that Iran was unaware of what was happening and "unfairly" attacked part of the Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant.
“If Iran does not make a reasonable decision and does not attack Qatar, Israel will no longer attack this important South Pars field,” Trump stated.
According to Tasnim news agency on March 18, Israel and the U.S. attacked Iranian oil and gas industry facilities, including "Asaluyeh" and "South Pars." A representative of the Iranian Armed Forces Central Command reported that Tehran intends to destroy energy infrastructure facilities in the U.S. and Israel in response to strikes on its territory.
In response to these events, Iran attacked one of the largest industrial centers in the world for LNG production in Ras Laffan, Qatar, which resulted in damage to the QatarEnergy plant.
In light of this, the foreign ministers of 12 Arab and Islamic countries condemned Iran's attacks on civilian facilities and, in a joint statement, called on Tehran to immediately cease aggressive actions.
