This event marks the fourth confirmed missile launch from North Korea this year. The previous launch occurred on March 14, during the joint spring exercises of South Korea and the United States.
On the eve, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un accepted the apologies of South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol regarding the incident involving drones that crossed the border. The President of South Korea characterized this as a provocative action. Last week, the South Korean prosecution charged three citizens who launched drones across the border with North Korea from September 2025 to January 2026.
