According to The Chosun Daily, Kim Jong Un often takes his daughter to missile tests and nuclear launches, which may indicate her involvement in military affairs.

According to intelligence data, she may have been assigned the role of "head of missile management." Formally, this position is held by Jang Chang Ha; however, it is claimed that Kim Ju Ae is already receiving reports from generals and may be giving instructions.

Preparation for the role of successor?

On February 12, at a closed session of the South Korean parliament, the National Intelligence Service reported on the possible preparation of Kim Ju Ae for the role of future leader of the country.

It is also noted that she may be showing signs of participation in discussions on political issues.

“Authorities are closely monitoring whether relevant signs will appear at the IX Congress of the Workers' Party, which is taking place from February 19 in Pyongyang,” the report states.

Details about Kim Ju Ae

Kim Ju Ae was first shown in North Korean media in November 2022 when she attended the launch of the intercontinental missile "Hwasong-17." She was referred to as the "beloved daughter," although her official name was not disclosed.

Interestingly, Kim Jong Un's name was not mentioned in the press until 2010, when he began to be presented as a potential successor.

Recently, it was reported that North Korea successfully conducted its first ballistic missile tests in 2026, directing them towards the Sea of Japan. In the fall of 2025, Kim Jong Un and his daughter also attended an airshow dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the country's Air Force.
