South Korean intelligence reported on North Korean leader's plans to appoint his daughter as successor

According to South Korean intelligence, Kim Ju-ae has participated in several official events, including the Army Day celebrations and a visit to the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun. Experts note that she has expressed her opinions on various political issues, which may indicate her preparation for the role of successor, representatives of the NIS stated.

Previously, South Korean intelligence already considered Kim Ju-ae the most likely candidate for inheriting power, but now, according to the NIS, the official procedure for her appointment has begun. The agency emphasizes that it will closely monitor her participation in various official events.

It is believed that Kim Ju-ae is currently around 13 years old. In September, intelligence reported that she may have accompanied Kim Jong-un during his visit to Beijing for the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory over militaristic Japan. In 2024, the NIS informed the South Korean parliament that Kim Ju-ae is undergoing training in state administration issues.
