Last week, the nuclear aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln passed through the Malacca Strait, sailing past Singapore last Sunday with minimal illumination, accompanied by the destroyers USS Frank E. Petersen Jr, USS Spruance, and USS Michael Murphy.
Previously, this ship was in the South China Sea, and now its course has been changed towards the Indian Ocean. Official representatives of the Pentagon and the Navy have not yet confirmed its final destination; however, navigation data suggests this direction.
This is already the third instance in the past year where a strike group stationed in the Indo-Pacific region has been instructed to redirect to the Persian Gulf. The Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier was already redirected during its deployment in 2024, and similar orders were given to the Nimitz aircraft carrier in June of last year.
