In January 2026, the number of foreign tourists who visited Mongolia amounted to 35,308 people.
According to the Mongolian Tourism Organization, this figure has increased compared to the same period last year. In particular, on January 22, 1,440 tourists arrived in the country.
As for the countries of origin, the number of tourists visiting Mongolia was distributed as follows:
China – 14,220
Russia – significant flow
South Korea – 2,588
Japan – 776
Kazakhstan – 630
USA – 528
Tourists also arrived from countries such as Belarus, the Philippines, France, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam. There is an observed increase in visitors from Europe and distant countries. Industry experts emphasize that this growth is due to an active policy in border control, transportation, and marketing, as well as improvements in international promotion of winter and cultural tourism.
