The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank will allocate $50 million to Kyrgyzstan

At the meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Finance, Budget, Entrepreneurship, and Competition Development, an agreement on credit support for Kyrgyzstan from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank was presented, prepared by the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic.

As reported by Deputy Minister of Finance Nurbek Akjolov, within the framework of the project "Development of a Sustainable Financial Market for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises in the Kyrgyz Republic," which has already been supported by the World Bank for $120 million, the Asian Bank will additionally allocate 7.3 billion Japanese yen, equivalent to $50 million.

The loan will be issued for a term of 32 years, of which 7 years and 6 months are expected to use a floating interest rate, which will be 1% per annum, according to the deputy minister.

The allocated funds will be directed to support small and medium enterprises, especially for the implementation of "green projects." Loans will be provided in amounts ranging from 100,000 to 50 million soms for a term of up to five years at an interest rate of 8% per annum.

Nurbek Akjolov also noted that the funds allocated by the World Bank in the amount of $120 million have already started to reach entrepreneurs since the beginning of February.

During the discussion, the deputies approved the draft agreement.
