The launch of the second unit at the Kambarata HPP-2 is planned, along with the start of reconstruction works at the Uch-Kurgan HPP.
As part of the measures to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the hydropower sector, the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, together with JSC 'Electric Stations', is launching several significant projects in 2026.
One of the key events will be the commissioning of the second hydropower unit at the Kambarata HPP-2, scheduled for spring. At the same time, the reconstruction of two hydropower units at the Uch-Kurgan HPP will begin: work on unit No. 2 will start in February, while work on unit No. 1 will commence on March 1. Conducting modernization simultaneously will allow for a comprehensive update of the station's equipment.
Active construction work and infrastructure improvements continue at the Kambarata HPP-1. Internal finishing works are being completed in the administrative and household complex, and engineering networks are being laid in the under-construction dormitory, along with the installation of internal partitions.
At the Kurp-Sai HPP, the replacement of two autotransformers (AT-1 and AT-2) at the 220 kV switchyard has begun to increase the station's capacity. The delivery of new equipment is expected in January and March 2026, with installation starting on April 1 and completion by autumn.
It is also reported that a new administrative building for the company's employees will be put into operation. In 2026, a phased renovation of the administrative premises of the branches of JSC 'Electric Stations' is planned.
All activities are under the control of the Ministry of Energy and are aimed at the sustainable development of hydropower, which will contribute to strengthening the country's energy system.
