- In 2025, 1,087 hectares of grain crops were destroyed and written off in the country, according to statistical data.

Of this area, 318 hectares were wheat, while 769 hectares were barley.

The main factors leading to the losses were unfavorable conditions — harsh dry farming and low germination rates, as well as natural disasters such as hail, mudslides, high temperatures, and frosts.

As a result, by the end of 2025, 1,789.0 thousand tons of grain were harvested (excluding legumes, rice, and buckwheat, in weight after processing), which is 14.2% less compared to the previous year.

The decrease in harvest volumes is associated with a decline in the yield of grain crops (excluding legumes, rice, and buckwheat), which amounted to 15.3% compared to 2024.
