- In Kyrgyzstan, the grain harvest in 2025 amounted to 1.8 million tons (excluding legumes, rice, and buckwheat, in weight after processing), as reported by the National Statistical Committee.

Compared to the previous year, 2024, there is a decrease of 14.2%. This is due to a reduction in the gross yield of wheat and barley, which fell by 26.2% and 26.5%, respectively.

In 2025, the gross yield of wheat was 490.5 thousand tons, barley was 449 thousand tons, and corn for grain was 846.4 thousand tons.

Corn occupies the largest share in the structure of the gross grain harvest — 47.3%, followed by wheat with 27.4% and barley with 25.1%.

Farmers and agricultural enterprises remain the main producers of grain, providing over 91% of the total harvest volume.

Interestingly, in 2024, the gross yield of wheat increased by 51% compared to 2023, while in 2025 it decreased by 26.2% compared to 2024. A similar situation is observed with barley: a growth of 59.9% in 2024 was followed by a decline of 26.5% in 2025.

The reason for the reduction in grain production volumes was a decrease in yield. The average yield of wheat in 2025 was 19.8 centners per hectare, which is lower compared to 27.7 centners per hectare in 2024. The yield of barley also decreased — to 18.3 centners per hectare from 24.7 centners per hectare the previous year.

Nevertheless, the gross yield of corn for grain continues to grow: in 2024 it increased by 0.7% compared to 2023, and in 2025 — by 5.1% compared to 2024.

The main regions for wheat production are Chui region (35.6%), Issyk-Kul (21.2%), Osh (19.3%), and Jalal-Abad (11.9%). The leaders in barley are Chui (37.1%), Issyk-Kul (29.7%), Osh (11.3%), and Naryn (9.7%) regions. Corn for grain production is concentrated in Chui (33.9%), Osh (26.8%), and Jalal-Abad (26.2%) regions.
