
In 2025, the gross output produced by farmers in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 459.7 billion soms, which is an increase of 2.2 percent compared to the previous year, according to data provided by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and the National Statistical Committee.
The main factor contributing to this positive trend was livestock farming, which increased by 4 percent, while crop production saw modest growth of only 0.2 percent.

Production of livestock and poultry meat increased by 3.6 percent, milk by 3.2 percent, and wool by 1.4 percent. A particularly notable increase was observed in egg production, which rose by 18.7 percent.

Challenges in Crop Production and Climate Issues
In 2025, the total area of sown land amounted to 1 million 245.6 thousand hectares, which is a decrease of 0.1 percent compared to 2024.
The sector faced serious difficulties: dry spring and summer months, as well as a lack of irrigation water, negatively impacted the yield of grains.
As a result, farmers harvested 1 million 800 thousand tons of grain, which is 14.2 percent less than last year. The largest losses were recorded in the Chuy, Talas, and Batken regions.

Nevertheless, the increase in corn harvest (by 5.1 percent), rice (by 17 percent), and vegetables (by 11.3 percent) allowed the overall gross harvest of crop production to remain at 100.2 percent.
Cooperation and State Support
Last year saw an increase in the number of farmers' cooperatives: from 753 to 821. The area of land they cultivated reached 55 thousand 454 hectares.
