- According to the Ministry of Economy, in 2025, 1.8 million tons of grain crops were harvested in Kyrgyzstan from an area of 605.9 thousand hectares.

This is 14.2% less than in the previous year and is associated with low yields in the Chui, Talas, and Batken regions. The average yield of grains was about 29 centners per hectare. In the Chui region, there was a decline in wheat yield by 17.3 c/ha and barley by 14.3 c/ha. The Talas region showed a decrease in wheat by 9.7 c/ha and barley by 5.5 c/ha, as well as legumes by 1.3 c/ha.

The main factors that affected the decrease in yields were dry conditions in spring and summer, as well as a shortage of irrigation water. As a result, some crops began to ripen 2-3 weeks earlier than usual, which led to an earlier start of the harvesting campaign and, consequently, affected production volumes.

Additionally, in 2025, there was a reduction in the gross harvest of several agricultural crops: wheat production decreased by 26.8%, barley by 26.5%, sugar beet by 43.7%, tobacco by 44.2%, cotton by 49.2%, oilseeds by 11.7%, legumes by 3.6%, and potatoes by 1.7%.

However, despite these difficulties, the gross harvest of corn increased by 5.1%, rice by 17%, vegetables by 11.3%, fruit and berry crops by 17.5%, and melons by 7.1%. This allowed the overall gross harvest of agricultural products to remain at 100.2% compared to the previous year.

In 2025, state support for the agricultural sector continued, amounting to over 11 billion soms. The support was directed towards the implementation of various projects. For example, within the framework of the "Development of Seed Production and Nurseries in the Kyrgyz Republic" project, a preferential loan of 15.8 million soms was provided. Additionally, under the "Development of Breeding Livestock" project, preferential loans amounting to 584.1 million soms were issued, and under the "Financing of United Producers" project, loans totaling 218.2 million soms were provided.

Also, under the "Agriculture Financing - 13" project, 6,487 rural producers received preferential loans totaling 4.1 billion soms. These programs continue to have a significant impact on the development of the agricultural sector, supporting local producers and improving financial conditions for agricultural activities.

The contribution of agricultural production to the gross domestic product in 2025 was 0.19 percentage points, while the share of agriculture in the GDP structure reached 8%.
