According to the National Statistical Committee, in January 2026, consumer prices in Kyrgyzstan increased by 0.8% compared to December 2025, and the annual growth was 9.5%.

Since the beginning of the new year, there has been an increase in prices for:



Price Changes in January 2026



Prices for fresh vegetables rose by 4.9% in January 2026, marking the largest increase.

Potatoes also became more expensive (by 3.4%), meat products (sausages and canned goods) by 2.5%, dairy products by 2.1%, cheese by 2.1%, and eggs by 2.1%.

Additionally, there was an increase in prices for bulk milk (by 2.6%), lamb (by 1.5%), beef (by 0.9%), and fish (by 0.5%).

Some products, such as flour (by 0.5%) and rice (by 0.1%), have become cheaper since the beginning of the year.



Regional Price Changes



Price and tariff increases in January 2026 were observed in all regions of Kyrgyzstan, according to the National Statistics report.

The largest increase (1.3%) was recorded in the Batken region, mainly due to an increase in tariffs for services to the population (by 2.6%).

In Bishkek, the maximum increase in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages was 1.4%, while non-food goods in the Jalal-Abad region increased by 1.2%.

Food Basket Monitoring by 24.kg



24.kg continues to conduct weekly monitoring of prices for a minimum set of products. Over the past week, the cost of this set has increased by 106 soms, totaling 7,338 soms.

In Bishkek, prices for tomatoes, peppers, apples, and vegetable oil have risen, while cucumbers, carrots, cabbage, pears, and sugar have become cheaper.


24.kg tracks prices for the same set of products in the same supermarket weekly. It should be noted that prices in stores may differ from market prices, and supermarkets often have discounts.

Analysis shows that since the start of monitoring in late October 2018, the price of the food basket has increased by 4,068 soms. Since the beginning of 2026, it has increased by 615 soms, and compared to the same period in 2025, by 1,272 soms.

Salary Dynamics in Kyrgyzstan



According to the National Statistics data, the average nominal salary in enterprises and organizations across various sectors of the economy increased by 18.9% compared to 2024 by the end of 2025.

Currently, it amounts to 44,419 soms, according to the National Statistical Committee.



As of January 2025, the number of registered unemployed in Kyrgyzstan was 37,600 people, which is 24.6% less compared to 2024.
