The Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic organized a large-scale discussion on the idea of supporting local fish feed production. The event presented a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, which is intended to serve as a foundation for the development of this important industry.
Participants included not only representatives of the government but also practicing producers, importers, and owners of fish farms. The main focus was on reducing dependence on imported feeds and providing local farmers with safe and quality products produced within the country.
Specific mechanisms of state support were discussed at the meeting, which will help businesses increase their production capacities. Participants from the aquaculture sector voiced their proposals, many of which will be taken into account in the final version of the document. Following the meeting, it was decided to revise the draft resolution considering the opinions of entrepreneurs to achieve maximum relevance and effectiveness of the support measures.
The ministry emphasizes that the development of feed production is an important step in strengthening the entire aquaculture industry in Kyrgyzstan, which will allow local farms to enhance their competitiveness and reduce dependence on external supplies.
