The Cabinet of Ministers plans to allocate 200 thousand hectares for migrants
According to the information from the First Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Janibek Kerimaliev, 614 thousand hectares of unowned land have been identified in Kyrgyzstan. Of these, 200 thousand hectares will be allocated for agricultural needs.
This information became known after an audit conducted by the government.
“At the moment, we are ready to allocate 200 thousand hectares. This will create new jobs and support labor migrants. We intend to assist those who wish to work the land. The plots will be provided with water and electricity. Migrants will be able to invest in fencing their lands, as well as in equipment for drip or sprinkler irrigation and engage in agriculture. Requests from interested parties have already begun to arrive,” said Janibek Kerimaliev.
