According to information from the press service of OJSC "Chakan HPP", the company has signed a contract with the Chinese China National Heavy Machinery Corporation, which will become the general contractor for the reconstruction project of the Lebedinovskaya HPP.
Currently, specialists have already begun work on the design and estimate documentation for the upcoming works.
As part of the project, it is planned to update the existing equipment, which will increase productivity and extend the lifespan of the hydroelectric power station. The following results are expected:
The Lebedinovskaya HPP, built in May 1942, is one of the oldest operating hydroelectric power stations in the Chui region. The construction took place under harsh winter conditions, with more than 7,000 women and children manually digging frozen ground and pumping out up to 200 cubic meters of groundwater daily to ensure the stability of the foundation.
The construction lasted only one year and two weeks, and in 1943, the city of Frunze (now Bishkek) received the necessary electricity, which enabled the launch of evacuated factories that supported the front.
