According to an analysis conducted by the OSCE, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) significantly impact the gross domestic product of Kyrgyzstan. However, for most SMEs, especially microbusinesses, as well as enterprises managed by women and youth, there are still serious barriers to accessing long-term and affordable loans. This is due to high collateral requirements and interest rates, as well as limited coverage of existing support programs. In this regard, the Ministry of Economy emphasizes that by 2030, at least 40% of women should be involved in new initiatives aimed at supporting small and medium-sized entrepreneurship.
