According to the press service of the Ministry of Water Management and Agriculture, 28,762 seedlings imported from the Republic of Uzbekistan were returned.

This occurred on February 23 at the phytosanitary control post "Kyzyl-Kiya," where employees of the Batken Department of Chemicalization, Plant Protection, and Quarantine identified the absence of labeling on the packaging of the seedlings.

According to the decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission dated November 30, 2016 (No. 157), each package of quarantined products must contain labeling with the name of the product, the country of origin, as well as the exporting or re-exporting country.

The absence of labeling on quarantined cargo is a violation of the general quarantine phytosanitary norms of the Eurasian Economic Union, which was the reason for the return of this batch to the importing country.
