In addition, the commissioning of solar power plants with a capacity of 850 MW is planned.
The Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Erlis Akunbekov, spoke about the prospects for the development of the energy sector during a national meeting.
According to him, Kyrgyzstan is entering a new era in the field of energy.
Currently, measures are being implemented to modernize and expand the energy infrastructure.
For example, in 2025, installed production was increased by 213.6 MW due to the replacement of hydro units at the Toktogul and Uch-Korgon HPPs, as well as the commissioning of 8 small HPPs with a total capacity of 44.6 MW and a solar power plant with a capacity of 100 MW in the Kemin district.
Last year, the CASA-1000 power transmission line connecting Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was launched.
Work is also actively ongoing to bring the second unit with a capacity of 120 MW at the Kambar-Ata HPP-2 into operation.
“In 2026, the launch of 13 small HPPs with a total capacity of 80.6 MW and solar power plants with a capacity of 850 MW is planned,” the minister noted.
