Documents have been submitted to the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic for the establishment of "Post Bank," which will use OJSC "Kyrgyzpost" as an agency network to provide banking services to the population.
The bank plans to operate on an agency model, offering basic banking services in accordance with the current legislation and regulations of the NB KR.
The National Bank will review the submitted documents within the established timeframe according to the law.
The license will be issued after a comprehensive assessment of the submitted materials, including compliance with capital requirements and other criteria necessary for opening a bank.
In 2025, the National Bank has already issued licenses for the opening of six new commercial banks: "Berekett Bank," "Alma Finance Bank," "Muras Bank," "Asman Bank," "Kylım Bank."
According to the government decree of the KR dated April 8, 2022, No. 203, "Kyrgyzpost" was transformed into a joint-stock company, with 100% of the shares remaining in state ownership.
A network of branches of OJSC "Kyrgyzpost" has been established based on postal offices, and a unified management system for regional postal communication structures has been implemented, based on the standards of accounting, tax, and management accounting. Currently, OJSC "Kyrgyzpost" operates as a strategic entity, ensuring full self-sufficiency and providing the population with essential postal and financial services.
