Although the main flow of solar plasma has not yet reached Earth, the magnetic field has already begun to react actively, leading to the onset of the storm.
The most vivid effects are currently observed in the nighttime zone of the Western Hemisphere. Auroras have reached a maximum intensity of category 10 over Canada and the northern states of the USA. For residents of the European part of Russia, the situation will clear up in about 10 hours when the night line shifts to this region, and it will become clear how widely the auroral activity will spread.
