The suspect in a series of car thefts was detained in Bishkek, according to information provided by the Main Internal Affairs Department of the capital.
The events unfolded on January 31, 2026, when a resident of the city, J.A., reported a theft to the First May District Internal Affairs Department. He stated that on the same date, unknown criminals stole his briefcase containing 8,000 soms from the interior of a "BMW X5" parked on Panfilov Street. After committing the crime, the perpetrators fled.
A criminal case was initiated regarding this incident under Article 205 (theft) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As a result of operational measures, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Bishkek Main Internal Affairs Department managed to detain a citizen, A.B., who was taken to the investigative service of the First May District Internal Affairs Department and placed in a temporary detention facility.
During further investigation, it was revealed that the detainee may be involved in other similar crimes. Currently, investigative actions are being conducted to uncover additional facts of his criminal activities.
The Bishkek Main Internal Affairs Department urges citizens to be cautious: it is recommended not to leave valuable items, money, and documents in vehicles, even for a short period, to avoid the risk of theft.
