OAO "National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan" plans to purchase 268 transformers in 2026 to ensure stable electricity supply for the population, reports the Ministry of Energy.
As part of the preparations for the autumn-winter season of 2026–2027, work is planned to increase capacity at substations for both high and low voltage across the country.
At 20 substations operating on high-voltage networks of 35 and 110 kV, it is planned to increase the capacity of power transformers by 256 MVA.
Distribution by regions:
• Bishkek — 2 units;
• Jalal-Abad region — 5 units;
• Issyk-Kul region — 5 units;
• Naryn region — 2 units;
• Talas region — 2 units;
• Chui region — 4 units.
To improve the quality of service and reliability of electricity supply in the 10/0.4 kV networks, the installation and modernization of 248 transformers will be carried out, which will increase capacity by 107 MVA.
Distribution of transformers:
• Bishkek — 46 units;
• Osh region — 46 units;
• Talas region — 42 units;
• Jalal-Abad region PES — 29 units;
• Issyk-Kul region — 28 units;
• Naryn region — 27 units;
• Batken region — 22 units;
• Chui region — 8 units.
These measures will allow for the renewal of equipment in the energy sector and reduce the load on the networks. In accordance with modern requirements, OAO "NESK" will continue the modernization of the energy system, as emphasized by the Ministry of Energy.
