According to the company's information, the issue affects BMW cars with starter relays produced between July 2020 and July 2022. These models include the BMW 2 Series Coupe, as well as various versions of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Series, the 6th Series Gran Turismo, as well as the X4, X5, X6, and Z4 models.
The company also noted that drivers should avoid leaving vehicles with the engine running unattended. During operation, smoke may be observed or a smell may be noticed while driving or exiting the vehicle.
