According to sources, the arrest of Abdykalykov is part of a broader campaign against corruption following the resignation of Kamchybek Tashiev from the position of chairman of the GKNB. During this campaign, several employees of the agency have been detained, including Eldar Jakypbekov, who previously headed the Main Department of the GKNB for Bishkek, and Berdibek Boronbaev, the former head of the investigative department in the Chui region. Also among those detained is Sydyk Duyshembiev, known for his close acquaintance with Jakypbekov, as well as Aibek Tashmatov, the director of the Republican Sports College, who is also linked to Jakypbekov. All of them are also accused of corruption.
After the dissolution of the Anti-Corruption Service in the GKNB, the responsibility for combating corruption was transferred to the 6th Main Department. Information about Tilek Abdykalykov in open sources is quite limited.
