Today, February 16, an employee of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) named Syidyk, also known as Pito, was detained in Bishkek. This was reported by Kaktus.media, citing its sources in law enforcement agencies.
Syidyk worked in the 6th department of the GKNB, which is responsible for investigating particularly significant cases, including high-level corruption crimes. It is worth noting that he had close ties with Eldar Jakypbekov, the former head of the Bishkek GKNB, who was arrested the day before, on February 15.
The 6th department of the GKNB was granted expanded powers after the dissolution of the Anti-Corruption Committee in 2021. In 2024, an investigation has already begun regarding a number of employees of this department.
