Electricity Consumption in Kazakhstan Increased by 3.8% in 2025

According to the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, electricity consumption increased by 3.8% in 2025.

“The total volume of consumed electricity reached 124.6 billion kWh, which is 3.83% more than in 2024, when this figure was 120 billion kWh,” the ministry's budget execution report states.

In addition, electricity production in the country grew by 4.4%, reaching 123.1 billion kWh (117.9 billion kWh in 2024).

As of January 1, 2026, the total installed capacity of Kazakhstan's power plants is 20.1 GW.
