
According to current data, the structure of registered vehicles is as follows:
- 972,252 — gasoline cars (51%)
- 57,310 — gas cars (3%)
- 339,938 — diesel cars (18%)
- 56,997 — cars with gas-petrol installations (3%)
- 37,295 — hybrid cars (2%)
- Others — other types of transport
Electric vehicles make up 0.8% of the total number of vehicles. In recent years, there has been a steady increase in their numbers:
- 2022 — 1,113 electric vehicles
- 2023 — 2,310 electric vehicles
- 2024 — 3,122 electric vehicles
- 2025 — 9,870 electric vehicles
Additionally, there is a trend in the republic towards updating the vehicle fleet: in 2024, the share of cars aged up to 5 years was 1.5%, and in 2025 it increased to 4.5% of the total number of registered vehicles.
A project called "Green Taxi" is planned to be launched in Bishkek in collaboration with the National Investment Fund. Currently, mechanisms for implementation and potential opportunities for this project are being discussed.
In the capital, over 100 electric charging stations have been installed, which supports the development of infrastructure for environmentally friendly transport and contributes to the increase in the number of electric vehicles.
The development of environmentally friendly transport is an important step towards protecting the environment, improving air quality, and sustainable urban development. This work will continue on a systematic basis.
