The Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh discussed with the Russian Ambassador the legalization of cars with Russian license plates in Kyrgyzstan.

On February 23, a meeting took place between the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Marlen Mamataliyev and the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic Sergey Vakunov, as reported by the parliament's press service.

During the discussion of various issues, Mamataliyev emphasized the importance of joint efforts to legalize cars registered in Russia on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

Last year, from April to September 2025, a campaign for the legalization of foreign cars was held in Kyrgyzstan. The fee for legalization was 50,000 soms for cars with engines up to two liters and 100,000 soms for vehicles with more powerful engines. As a result, about 30,000 passenger cars were legalized.
