According to the publication, during the investigation, Polish border services discovered four similar underground tunnels, all of which were built in 2025. According to the border guards, this tunnel was used by 180 illegal migrants, most of whom were citizens of Afghanistan and Pakistan. The height of the tunnel is 1.5 meters, and its walls are reinforced with concrete structures. It stretches 50 meters into Belarus and 10 meters into Poland, with the entrance on the Belarusian side camouflaged among the trees.
Military experts familiar with the video footage of the tunnel claim that it is difficult to determine with complete certainty who was responsible for its construction. They point to the possibility of involvement from groups such as HAMAS from the Gaza Strip, Hezbollah from Lebanon, certain Kurdish groups, and possibly the terrorist organization ISIS.
Poland's Deputy Minister of the Interior, Czesław Mroczek, commented on the situation, noting: "The emergence of such tunnels indicates that our efforts in combating illegal migration have become so effective that the decision was made to involve specialists from the Middle East."
